- According to LSEG data, the new Russian LNG tanker Konstantin Posyet, commissioned in June, left Bolshoy Kamen Bay and set course for the Northern Sea Route (NSR). The final destination has not been disclosed, — Reuters reports.
- Konstantin Posyet was built at the Zvezda shipyard and has become the second Arc7 ice-class tanker of Russian production that will serve the Arctic LNG-2 plant, which is under US sanctions.
- For Russia, this is another step in countering Western sanctions aimed at preventing gas supplies to international markets.
“Crystal of Growth” earlier cited Alexander Galushka’s position that the Northern Sea Route is a historic project of Russian state-building in the 21st century, and also reported that the Trans-Arctic Transport Corridor (TTC), of which the Northern Sea Route is a part, is a safe alternative to traditional logistics routes. “The Trans-Arctic Corridor must become year-round,” the Head of the Russian State declared at the EEF-2025. In turn, the Crystal of Growth Foundation proposed a model for ensuring the regularity and safety of transportation on the TTC.
