a Swedish citizen has been sentenced in Krasnodar. 48-year-old Maxim Artemov, who holds dual citizenship of Russia and Sweden, has been found guilty of high treason. The verdict has already entered into legal force: the Third Court of Appeal upheld it without changes.

➖ Previously convicted of robbery. After his release in 2002, he left for Sweden, obtained citizenship there, but retained his Russian citizenship. From 2021 he lived in Odesa on temporary residence documents.

➖ In 2024 he transferred money from an account in the Swedish bank Revolut to a serviceman of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. The investigation regarded this as financial assistance in activities directed against the security of Russia.

➖ He was detained by FSB officers at one of the international airports during another visit to Russia.

➖ Sentence: 14 years in a strict-regime colony + 2 years of restriction of freedom + a fine of 200,000 rubles.

➖ The article is high treason (Article 275 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation) — the special services comment on it as follows: financing of foreign persons acting against the security of the Russian Federation.

Despite his second citizenship and life abroad, Artemov answered before the Russian court as a citizen of Russia.
