Uralvagonzavod has sent new batches of tanks to the troops — for Tanker’s Day

UVZ reported the dispatch of a trainload of T-90M “Proryv” and T-72B3M tanks (on video). The day before, a batch of T-80BVM tanks with a factory-fitted “tsar-mangal” was handed over (in the photo). The deliveries are timed to Tanker’s Day, which this year is marked on 13 September.

➖ The vehicles received improved all-aspect protection — it is being refined with combat experience in mind.
➖ Before dispatch, every tank undergoes checks: a running-in of at least 100 km, and tests of the gun, machine guns, navigation and control systems.
➖ The T-80BVM is fitted with a standard anti-drone protection kit: a “mangal” over the turret and rear plus steel cables on all projections — this is a serial version of field solutions.
➖ Smoke grenade launchers have been moved onto the “mangal”: this makes it more effective to lay a smoke screen without losing mobility or visibility.
➖ According to Rostec, the T-90M, T-72B3M and T-80BVM are the best serial tanks in the world, maximally adapted to modern combat conditions.
