According to Eurostat, in 2025 spending by Cyprus residents on air travel amounted to 2.12% of consumer expenditure — the highest figure among EU countries. The high share is explained by the country’s island location: for trips abroad, residents of Cyprus use aircraft far more often than residents of continental states.
