In the Nizhny Novgorod region, Volga cars have started to be produced in a full cycle

Vehicle production now includes body welding, painting and final assembly. For this purpose, the workshops where Volkswagen and Skoda cars were previously made have been modernized.

The cars already use Russian glass, exhaust systems, batteries, wheel rims, tires, electronic units and telematics equipment. Domestic materials are also used in body painting.

Localization is planned to expand gradually. In 2026, production of plastic body parts is due to start, in 2027 — stamping of metal parts, and from 2028 — production of engines and transmissions. The capacity of the Nizhny Novgorod plant allows up to 110,000 cars a year.
