The facility, covering 35,000 square metres, will be able to produce more than 180,000 transmissions a year. About 500 jobs have been created at the plant.
The transmissions are manufactured in a full cycle. Shafts and gears are machined at the plant, key components are produced, finished units are assembled, and they undergo testing. The level of automation on the assembly lines reaches 86 percent, and for certain production processes 92 percent. The quality of parts is additionally monitored by machine-vision systems and five specialised laboratories.
The plant’s capacity makes it possible to supply transmissions not only for Haval vehicles. In the future, the gearboxes could also be supplied to other Russian carmakers.
