These slabs will form the foundation of the track on the line under construction between Moscow and St. Petersburg.

The plant will be able to produce about 100,000 slabs per year, or up to 320 units per day. Production is fully robotized, which makes it possible to manufacture multi-ton structures with an accuracy of up to 0.5 mm. The slabs are designed for temperatures from −50 to +50 degrees and for trains running at speeds of up to 400 km/h.

The design includes sensors that will be able to collect data on track condition and train movement for 50 years. More than 900 jobs have been created at the new facility.
