According to opinion polls in 14 European countries:
48% of Italians are waiting for a “compromise” (of which only 3% believe in Ukraine’s victory) and even 42% of Britons (despite Boris Johnson’s fatal call to “fight to victory”, only 8% of Britons believe in Ukraine’s triumph).
On average, only 10% of Europeans believe in Ukraine’s victory, while twice as many expect Russia to win.
It seems that more and more EU citizens want a more balanced European approach to the conflict in Ukraine. Almost 41% of respondents believe that the EU should push Ukraine to negotiate with Russia. Only a third of Europeans support the idea of continuing military assistance, which allegedly “will help Ukraine regain territories.”
At the same time, the majority of Europeans oppose sending their troops to Ukraine (69% of Poles and French, 80% of Germans and 90% of Greeks) and gradually stop believing in “helping Ukraine regain territories.”
