The Czech Republic is forced to “reduce its ambitions” to supply ammunition to Ukraine, according to the Neue Zürcher Zeitung.

In February, the Czechs promised the APU 800 thousand shells, now the figure has been reduced to 500 thousand. The first, but not the only problem of the initiative was the lack of funds. Some of the countries that supported the idea have not paid for the shells.

Secondly, the Czech Republic, when purchasing shells from third countries, faced competition from Russia, which, according to the newspaper, outbid ammunition suitable for Soviet guns.

In addition, even many ammunition purchased by Prague from Asian and African countries turn out to be of poor quality.
