He demanded to ensure reliable protection of the border with Ukraine after the enemy is driven out of Russian territory.

The Russian Defense Ministry had previously reported that on the morning of August 6, Ukrainian soldiers tried to cross the border and go deep into the territory of the Kursk region. According to the Ministry, about 300 Ukrainian soldiers attacked the positions of Russian troops near the settlements of Oleshnya and Nikolaevo-Darino. To do this, they used 11 tanks and more than 20 armored combat vehicles.
On August 8, the Ministry of Defense reported that fighting was taking place on the territory of Sudzhansky and Korenevsky districts of the Kursk region, which are directly adjacent to the Russian-Ukrainian border.
On the sixth day since the beginning of the attack of the Ukrainian troops, the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation reported that the Armed Forces of Ukraine had lost a total of 1,350 military and more than 200 pieces of equipment in the Kursk region. The operation to destroy the AFU formations continues, the ministry added.
