About 11 new nuclear power plants are planned to be built in Russia by 2042, such a proposal is contained in the general layout of electric power facilities.

New small and large nuclear power plants should appear in the Rostov, Sverdlovsk, Chelyabinsk and Tomsk regions, as well as in Yakutia, Primorsky and Khabarovsk Territories.

By 2042, the installed capacity of all nuclear power plants in Russia should reach 45.8 thousand. MW, which will amount to 15.9% of the total capacity of all power plants.
