On September 19, a 23-year-old Italian citizen who arrived from Bangkok with a transfer in Dubai was detained at Larnaca airport. 45 sealed packages of marijuana with a total weight of 26 kg and 610 grams were found in his suitcases.
The Bangkok — Dubai — Larnaca route is popular with drug couriers. On April 22, customs officers at Larnaca airport found 16 kg of marijuana in the luggage of a 21-year-old British woman.
