Oksana Kushnir has written her name in history as the first Cypriot woman to conquer Mount Everest, as well as peaks such as Lhotse (8,516 m) and Manaslu (8,163 m).
Oksana is a businesswoman, investor and mother of two children, has Cypriot and Ukrainian roots. Her passion for mountaineering began almost 10 years ago, when her husband invited her to join him on an expedition. This first ascent has grown into a family tradition and has spurred her determination to conquer some of the most challenging peaks in the world. For Oksana, mountains are more than a physical challenge, they are a source of freedom, renewal and self—discovery.
“Mountains are freedom. Everyday routine is death,” Oksana says, emphasizing that each ascent is not only a test of physical endurance, but also a kind of spiritual journey.
