The population has grown due to efforts to protect rare animals: the fight against poachers, new reserves with a special protection regime and artificial feeding of ungulates hunted by predators. The natural habitat of tigers is also being restored: in ten years, the animals have managed to gain a foothold in the forests of the Amur Region, and in 2022 — in the Jewish Autonomous Region.
The Amur tiger is a red book inhabitant of eastern Russia, China and North Korea. It was on the verge of extinction due to poachers: in the 1930s, there were only 50 individuals. Today, we can say with confidence that humans have managed to save the species.
