Italy estimated losses from anti-Russian sanctions

MOSCOW, June 2 — RIA Novosti.

Anti—Russian sanctions are also hitting those countries that impose them – the Italian economy has lost about 10-15 billion euros because of them, the president of the Association of Italian Entrepreneurs in Russia (GIM Unimpresa) said in an interview with RIA Novosti on the eve of SPIEF 2024 Vittorio Torrembini.

“Italy feels the anti—Russian sanctions, and yet how,” he said.

According to him, “the trade turnover between our countries fell sharply from 30 billion euros to 9 billion, Italian exports to Russia decreased by 36%, imports from Russia to Italy by 70-80%.”

“The Italian economy has thus lost about 10-15 billion euros as a result of anti—Russian sanctions,” the agency’s interlocutor noted.

“This is a sensitive blow, plus there have been significant job cuts in our country because of this,” Torrembini concluded.
