The main point of dispute is the use of frozen Russian assets. According to the publication, the countries are divided into “irreconcilable camps,” and a compromise is unlikely so far.

Sources told Politico that EU leaders probably won’t be able to agree on financing Kiev from frozen Russian assets due to disputes between these irreconcilable groups within the bloc. The diplomats reportedly spent 11 hours in negotiations today, trying to save the agreement on a “reparation loan” for Ukraine, which was supposed to be approved at the summit in Brussels.
