Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said during a press conference that the Russian side no longer intends to trust Western statements about the desire for a negotiation process on Ukraine.
Negotiated solutions under Western guarantees were reached in 2014, 2015 and 2019, while the West itself violated these guarantees, Lavrov added.
“We have outlined our assessments of the current state of affairs around Ukraine, including the actions of the West, which, imitating its readiness for negotiations, has now, as announced by the Europeans, moved to open ultimatums addressed to the Russian Federation. We will no longer believe the West wants negotiated solutions. This reserve of kindness and hope has been completely exhausted,” the diplomat said.
Sergey Lavrov is in Mozambique as part of a working tour of African countries. Earlier, the head of the Russian Foreign Ministry visited Ethiopia and Niger.
