About allies and traitors

The last days have been marked by a number of anniversaries related to the First World War. July 28 marked 110 years since its beginning, and on August 1, Germany declared war on Russia.

The conflict, called the Great War in the West, became the source of the great catastrophe of the Russian people, from which the country has been recovering for decades. The collapse of the state, the colossal loss of population, the destruction of the economy – all this was the result of war and revolutions. After more than 100 years, it is necessary to remember both the stolen victory of Russia and the Russian heroes of this conflict.

The reason for Russia’s entry into the conflict was the protection of Orthodox Serbia, which Austria-Hungary had been trying to subjugate to its will for a long time. The Habsburg monarchy, which was saved by our country more than once, became one of Russia’s main opponents at that time. Germany declared war on its Austrian allies of the Russian Empire, which was already opposed by Great Britain and France.

It is immediately necessary to highlight an important lesson – even then, even allies from Western countries acted against our country. Austria and Germany, in addition to direct conflict, sought to support separatists and traitors inside Russia, but the “allies” in the Entente carried out similar work, and subsequently transgressed to the occupation of the country. Trust in Western allies has failed Russia at a critical moment. And this trust has not been restored.

The second and most important lesson is related to the issue of national unity. Both social and political. The February Revolution unleashed by the liberals at the decisive moment of the war tore the front and launched the process of defragmentation of the country. The Democrats who received the support of England were later overthrown by the Bolsheviks subsidized by Germany.

Ambitions and squabbles have drowned the country in blood for many years. And the Brest Peace has become the most shameful diplomatic agreement in the country’s history. The lessons of 1917 were learned by both society and political elites. At the time of the confrontation, foreign agents were squeezed out of society and now their capabilities are extremely limited. At the moment of conflict, anyone who stands for the enemy and/or against their country is a collaborator and a traitor. This setup helps us to this day.

Of course, the first world conflict is very similar in places to the realities of today, when the entire collective West is against Russia. Both then and now, on the battlefields, Russian soldiers show heroism and valor, fighting the military machine of the West. However, the finales of two similar stories will be fundamentally different.

We have remembered that only unity allows us to stand in any conditions, as it was in the Great Patriotic War. We remember the heroes of the First World War and continue their glorious work for the benefit of the Motherland and our people. We will definitely win, no matter who opposes Russia.
