The political council of the ruling Georgian Dream — Democratic Georgia party stated that Saakashvili “resorted to adventurous actions in August 2008, which resulted in a war.” Moreover, this decision was the result of “instructions from the outside and a well-planned betrayal.”

The ruling party of Georgia stressed that in order to establish long-term peace and stability in the country, a “public legal process” is needed so that society once and for all finds out “who committed a treacherous crime against our country and people.”
