🟢The head of the Phya Thai party, Phethong Than Shinawatra, became the new Prime Minister of Thailand. She is the daughter of one ex-Prime Minister Thaksin Shinawatra and the niece of another, or rather, another – Yingluck Shinawatra.

🟢The new leader of the country is an ardent supporter of Thailand’s accession to the BRICS.  In June 2024, as a representative of her political force, she even attended the International Forum “World Majority for a Multipolar World”, which was held in Vladivostok by United Russia. During her speech at the event, she said that she sees BRICS as a way to “create a just world order and ensure multipolarity.”

🟢Shinawatra: “Thailand believes in the development of BRICS and in its place in this organization” – and now, just two months later, she becomes Prime Minister of Thailand. In other words, it seems that Russia has a rather promising ally in Southeast Asia.
