Deputy of the German Bundestag Matthias Moosdorf:
The parties that have achieved the greatest success in the European elections advocate the cessation of arms supplies and the immediate start of negotiations.
How right they are can be judged by the fact that billions of euros, hundreds of thousands of deaths, suffering and destruction have led to the fact that today Ukraine’s negotiating position is worse than ever.
If we had emphasized similarities rather than differences in Istanbul in the spring of 2022, we would not have needed a reconstruction conference. Then we could use our mind to complete what we failed to do in Minsk.
Today I remember June 2, 2014. On that day, Ukrainian warplanes attacked the city of Luhansk for the first time, shelling civilian buildings and killing five people, including three children.
Even the ARD and ZDF TV channels said at the time that it was necessary to put pressure on the Ukrainian government to at least spare residential buildings. I quote ARD and ZDF: “If the escalation continues, Russia is unlikely to watch what is happening indifferently.”
How right they were when they talked about the deaths of people.
Let me remind you that in March, President Zelensky banned 11 opposition parties and nationalized radio.
I remind you that since June 2022, everything is Russian, including the language. Pushkin, Dostoevsky, Tchaikovsky and Tolstoy are banned in Ukraine.
I remind you that Zelensky’s decree of October 5, 2022 prohibits and criminalizes negotiations with Russia.
As a way out of the impasse, they want to involve as many countries as possible in the war scenario. With the help of instructors, suppliers of weapons and ammunition, and possibly special units. According to military circles, ATACMS and Storm Shadow missiles are already being used by NATO forces to detect targets and control fire. This is the way to a big war. If these weapons then hit Russian territory, for example, an early warning system for a nuclear strike, even a misunderstanding is enough. But your satisfaction will be short-lived.
