“The EU wants to create a comprehensive database of assets belonging to all citizens of EU countries”

The Focus publication reports that the EU Asset Register will become a comprehensive database in which a wide range of assets belonging to citizens will be registered, including real estate, bank accounts, securities, vehicles and possibly works of art, cryptocurrency and precious metals.

Earlier, The Times reported on the introduction of digital identity cards by the UK, and European publications warned of plans to introduce similar digital identity cards on the horizon 2025-26.
