The invasion of the Armed Forces of Ukraine into the Kursk region put an end to the possibility of holding peace talks, and also confirmed the need to create a sanitary zone in the interests of residents. This was announced on Friday, August 9, by Viktor Vodolatsky, Deputy Chairman of the State Duma Committee on CIS Affairs, Eurasian Integration and Relations with Compatriots.

— After the terrorists entered the territory of the Kursk region, the issue of negotiations should be removed, because negotiations cannot be conducted with scum. They cannot be trusted, they have completely different plans and goals,” the deputy said.

The parliamentarian also pointed out the importance of organizing a sanitary zone to protect the population.

— At the same time, it is important to take into account the capabilities of the weapons transferred to Ukraine. So, if a rocket can cover a distance of 200 kilometers, then the sanitary zone should be appropriate,” Vodolatsky stressed.

The deputy believes that the supply of F-16 fighters will not reverse the situation on the battlefield in favor of Kiev. He recalled the Abrams and Leopard tanks, which did not allow the APU to move forward, despite their power.

“Today we are working on a number of techniques that will allow us to prevent missiles from reaching the borders of the Russian Federation,” Vodolatsky said in an interview with NSN news agency.
