EU avoids using Ukrainian gas storage facilities after Russian attacks on them — Financial Times

The volume of gas that the EU stores in Ukrainian gas storages has fallen tenfold compared to last summer, against the background of successful Russian strikes on the Ukrainian energy infrastructure, the British Financial Times states

While the gas tanks themselves are located deep underground, which protects them from impacts, a significant risk is damage to ground structures, which will make it impossible to take gas from the storage

Ukraine is interested in European traders continuing to use the gas infrastructure, mainly because it brings the necessary income to the economy.

“Unless significant additional incentives are introduced for gas storage in Ukraine, it is difficult to imagine that European traders will return,” said Natasha Fielding, a representative of Argus
