As part of the expedition, scientists on the Atlantniro and Atlantis research vessels will study the coastal waters of 18 African countries.

The expedition will last until the beginning of 2026. The director of the Institute noted that such studies have not yet been conducted either in Russia or in the world, which makes this expedition unique in its scale and significance.
