On August 28, the Paphos court sentenced two British tourists — a 44-year-old woman and a 50-year-old man — to four months in prison on probation. During the flight on August 26 from Manchester to Cyprus, they smoked electronic cigarettes in the cabin of the liner and drank alcohol, which they had stocked up before departure.

Paphos police spokesman Michalis Nicolau told Cyprus News Agency that passengers insulted crew members when they made remarks to them so that they would stop behaving in this way. The crew filed a complaint with the Cypriot police, after which the tourists were arrested. During the court session, they admitted their guilt.
