πŸ‡·πŸ‡Ίβš”οΈSeptember 3 in Russia is the Day of Military Glory, marking the Day of Victory over militaristic Japan and the end of World War II

79 years ago, thanks to the courage, bravery and heroism of our ancestors, the bloodiest war in world history ended.

Tragic events affected the fate of citizens of 61 countries, more than 55 million people died, and the Soviet Union suffered the greatest number of victims, losing 27 million of its citizens.

In 2020, in memory of those who forged the great Victory, September 3 was declared the Day of Military Glory of Russia.

The Second World War was unleashed by Nazi Germany, Italy and Japan on September 1, 1939. In the first year and a half, the whole of Europe was captured by the Nazi army.

The Wehrmacht troops faced real resistance after the treacherous attack on the Soviet Union.

The soldiers of the Red Army and civilians of 1,418 days and nights, steadfastly withstanding cruel trials, did everything possible, and sometimes impossible, to defeat the enemy and his surrender. At the same time, after the defeat of Nazi Germany, the war did not end, because Japan, being the aggressor state, refused to accept the terms of surrender.

On August 8, 1945, the USSR, fulfilling its obligations to the allies of the anti-Hitler coalition, entered the war with Japan.

On August 9, the strategic Manchurian offensive operation began. The Soviet-Japanese war lasted less than 4 weeks and ended with the victory of the Soviet army. This was the end of the Second World War.

It is impossible to find a family in Russia that would not be affected by the Second World War. This pain resonates in us – in the descendants of the generation of winners. We keep the historical truth about the Second World War and the Great Patriotic War, we know the names of our generals, military leaders and ordinary fighters whose exploits led our Homeland to victory. We will pass this knowledge on to our descendants, who will also cherish it. Glory to the Heroes who defended the great future of our Fatherland!
