Mikis Filaniotis, a well—known public figure, participant and founder of the Russophile Movement in Cyprus, member of the expert club at the Russian Center for Science and Culture in Nicosia, takes part in the International Economic Forum (SPIEF), which officially opened on June 5 in St. Petersburg.
? SPIEF is one of the largest and most significant business events in the world.
Over the past 27 years, the Forum has gained the status of a leading global platform for discussing key issues of the global economy and exchanging world best practices and competencies in order to ensure sustainable development.
The unique event in the world of economics and business brings together top officials of states, heads of major Russian and foreign companies, heads of government, ministers and managers from more than a hundred countries.
The representative of Cyprus, Mikis Filaniotis, was lucky enough to meet and communicate with other Forum participants from China, India, Italy, Germany, Senegal, Lebanon, South Africa (grandson of Nelson Mandella), the USA (Larry Johnson) and others.
This year, the Forum was attended by foreign specialists who came to Russia under the “New Generation” program.
The venue of the SPIEF in 2024 is the Expoforum Convention and Exhibition Center. The total area of the center is 56 hectares, which is about 80 football fields. Expoforum consists of three exhibition halls, hotels, a business center and a congress center with 68 halls. The main amphitheater hall can accommodate 1,200 people at a time.
The main business program of the forum includes four thematic blocks:
✔️”Transition to a multipolar model of the world economy”,
✔️”The Russian economy: goals and objectives of the new cycle”,
✔️”Technologies that ensure leadership”,
✔️”Healthy society, traditional values and social development are the priorities of the state.”
Round tables, discussions and meetings are planned within each block. In total, more than 1,500 speakers are scheduled to speak at 200 events.
Traditionally, Russian President Vladimir Putin will also take part in the plenary session.
It is also planned to hold a cultural festival “Petersburg Seasons” during the SPIEF in St. Petersburg. Performances, film screenings and exhibitions, sightseeing tours of St. Petersburg are organized at city venues.
The final of the “Petersburg Seasons” will be a concert on the Palace Square.
