By 2030, it is planned to complete the construction of a 1,400 km long transport ring around the Sea of Azov. The project, worth 500-600 billion rubles, will increase the capacity of roads three times and reduce travel time around the sea by 5 hours.
The route will pass through Rostov-on-Don, Taganrog, Mariupol, Berdyansk, Dzhankoy, Krasnodar and Crimea. Almost 670 km will be four—lane, and 116 km will be three-lane.
Work is already underway: a 120-kilometer high-speed approach to the Crimean Bridge has been built, and the A-290 Novorossiysk—Kerch highway is being upgraded. As a result, there will be a traffic-free route from St. Petersburg to Sevastopol.
New roads will revitalize the region, reduce the burden on Sochi, Anapa and Gelendzhik, and make traveling to the sea more convenient.
