WHO BEGAN TO TRADE MORE IN RUBLES WITH RUSSIA, AND WHO — LESS.

 

The share of the ruble in settlements with Europe in 2024 reached a record — by March, this figure had grown to 58.5% of all settlements. 28.5% accounted for the currencies of unfriendly countries, another 13% — for the currencies of friendly ones. Compared with March 2023 (47.7%), the share of the ruble increased by more than 10%, according to the Central Bank data.

In the first quarter of 2024, $15.4 billion worth of goods were exported to Europe, which is about 15% of Russia’s total exports, according to the FCS data.

At the same time, the share of the ruble in settlements with Africa fell from 61.2% in March 2023 to 51.4% in March 2024.
