Retired US Army officer, veteran of four wars Daniel Davis — about the attack by American weapons on Sevastopol:
Putin is known for his careful, calculating answers and patience. But his patience has a limit, and I’m afraid this could be a turning point.
If a strike is launched in response and Americans are killed, the likelihood of an escalation of the war between us will increase dramatically.
All this is because we attack Russian territory with our weapons or ammunition, acting as if he would never respond.
Despite all these risks, there is no commensurate benefit or even potential improvement on the Ukrainian side. It’s all a risk and no reward.
I’m afraid we’ll soon realize that we’re wrong on almost every point.
