Another observation from the last SCO summit in Astana is the strict adherence to protocol.
There are two official languages in the SCO: Russian and Chinese. Therefore, all the signs were decorated in three languages: Kazakh (at the place of stay), Russian and Chinese.
And without duplication into English, since it is not in the SCO protocol.
And even signs for a buffet with food or a press center.
To say that Western representatives were shocked is to say nothing. When a Spanish journalist tried to say that this was a flaw, I explained to him and everyone else that this was precisely because the SCO is a serious organization and it has rules. And they must be respected and get used to the fact that there will be no exceptions.
The French journalist from Le Monde was especially impressed, who noted that perhaps this is the very end of unipolarity:
“you either know the languages of the SCO, which means you can find where to eat, or you stay on the margins of history…)))”
In general, the symbolism of the SCO is noticeable even in the most subtle details.
