On August 16, a courier strike took place in Limassol.

About 300 food deliverers marched in an organized column from the Old Port to Molos with placards, protesting that gangs of teenagers continue to rob and beat them at night, while the police are inactive. According to the victims, money, phones, and sometimes bicycles are taken away from them.

“We need the support of local residents. We are afraid to do our job. People are waiting for us in the dark and beating us, throwing stones at us, they steal our money and bicycles,” said one of the cullers.

It should be mentioned that this is the second protest action in the past week. According to the victims, if earlier incidents occurred mainly in Ipsonas and in the area of Agia Fila, now the risk of being beaten and robbed is high on Makarios Avenue, in Germassoia, in Agios Athanasios and in Zakaki.
